History

With passion as the driving force

Our history is firmly rooted in the automotive industry, i.e. two, three and multi-wheeled vehicles. Autotube’s founder, Valentin Heurlin, was manager of the bicycle manufacturer, M. Berlin & Co, at the time when he started up Hevas AB – now Autotube. This bicycle manufacturer was known for its Apollo bikes throughout Sweden, but it also manufactured mopeds and motorcycles. Manager Heurlin, for example, was the person behind the Apollo moped, Mopsen, that was shown at the sports journalists’ minicar exhibition in Stockholm in 1958. And that’s how it all started! Autotube has gone from exciting three-wheeled vehicles to innovative air and fluid distribution systems for trucks, cars and busses.

Today, Autotube is a high-tech Swedish company owned by Accent Equity, with two production sites located in southern Sweden. One is in the small community, Ulricehamn, adjacent to Lake Åsunden. The other is in the town of Varberg, where the waves of Kattegatt Bay lap the shores of the town’s long, sandy beaches. Both have one thing in common: desire and passion for vehicles and finding the best solutions.
